During the lockdown restrictions commencing Spring 2020, with her immediate family now living far from Ireland, she commenced a series of triptychs commenting on the pandemic. Christmas 2019 had been the last opportunity to see the families. A trip to The Met Museum, NY, Egyptian Room, during this visit, was her inspiration.


Over the next three years until May 2023 when the World Health Organization declared an end to the global health emergency, she created sculptural reliefs, seven triptychs (100cms - 120cms, 3ft - 4ft height) and two pillars (60cms, 2ft height). The materials used had to be available from online or supermarket delivery as she remained in isolation for a large extent of the pandemic period. For example the armature for the columns was created from plastic 1.5 litre water bottles. The triptychs were formed using natural fibres, cotton sheets or linen fabric coated with Plaster of Paris on stretcher frames. A matt paint finish produced the stone effect.

Recent canvases also have a sculptural quality influenced by the reliefs on ancient temples and public sculptures. Known as the Designer series, the pieces are based on image focus and consumerism.

The colour photographs were taken in New York, Sak's department store window display, and inside one of the Apple stores.

The black / white photographs were created with darkroom techniques to manipulate and create images.
